Buyer / Merchandising Specialist
Location: Hybrid in Beaverton (Onsite Monday – Thursday, Remote Friday) Duration: 8 Months Pay: up to $46.66/hour, DOE
Planet Interactive is looking for a Buyer / Merchandising Specialist to join our well known retail brand on a 8 month contract! This role is 40 hours per week and will be hybrid in Beaverton, OR.
Responsibilities:
Focus on consumer insights and assortment planning Go to Market and product management activities
Act as an expert in building Consumer Right Assortments for assigned category location
Brief the product engine on the needs of the consumer for both the category/geography and upcoming trends
Work across the product engines to ensure that product is being created with the retail end in mind
Edit the product line for assigned location and category using both directed assortment and selecting the line outside of the global core product with a goal of meeting revenue targets
Build directed assortments that supports category vision working with geographies with retail end in mind
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher, or combination of relevant education, experience, and training
4+ years experience in Footwear, Apparel, Equipment, or relevant consumer product merchandising, product creation and/or retail in a vertical, multi-brand or digital environment
Strong command of common retail and/or digital metrics such as sell-through, margin, full price realization, weeks of supply, etc.
Proven ability to translate consumer, sales, trend, and marketplace insights into in-season and long-term breakthrough strategies
Preparing seasonal tools to equip your marketplace partners with an understanding of seasonal priorities.
Experience developing strong working relationships with teammates and cross-functional partners
Great teammate and contributor, with an attitude and excitement to learn new things
Strong communication skills and comfort navigating a cross-functional matrix with an emphasis on influencing skills
Attention to detail, understanding the importance of consistency
