Job Description

Planet Interactive is seeking a Digital Copywriter to join one of our well-known Higher education clients.

The Digital Copywriter will assist with supporting the client's online presence and executing communication tactics. The preferred candidate will be up to date with digital technology, web accessibility, and SEO trends. They should have excellent communication skills and be able to express the client's mission with creativity and care.

Digital Copywriter Responsibilities:
  • Develop content ideas for the client's website and prepare for the publication of the content by writing copy, finding photos, and creating graphics as needed.
  • Meet with the client's enrollment management staff to identify opportunities to highlight upcoming admissions initiatives and address needs.
  • Assist in creating articles for the various news sections of the website, including centers and programs, event coverage, faculty, and student profiles, research in brief posts, and press releases as needed.
  • Work closely with the Senior Associate Director, Web Services, and the Digital Content Strategist, Strategic Communications to ensure the school’s website maintains compliance with accessibility, branding, responsiveness, and SEO standards.
  •  Support day-to-day content development for the client's website, including marketing copy for admissions pages, academic program pages, and thought leadership promotion.
  • Create and curate compelling content, including text, images, and videos, to foster community engagement and brand awareness.
  • Conduct monthly content audits and regular updates of web content in support of the various divisions and departments.
  • Review, approve, update, and publish site pages based on edits submitted by various stakeholders within CBS.
  • Generate innovative and relevant content for various marketing campaigns, including email newsletters, videos, infographics, and more.
  • Liaise with the client's Events team and other stakeholders to ensure calendar requests and descriptions are approved and published promptly.
  • Research, write, and develop high-level correspondence, including, but not limited to, presentations, agendas, reports, templates, and other related materials as needed.
  • Collaborate with writers and subject matter experts to help edit and proofread articles, blog posts, and other written content for accuracy, clarity, and style consistency.
  • Partner with our team of freelance and in-house graphic designers to develop and execute impactful designs for email and the website in alignment with brand standards and campaign goals.
  • Optimize content for SEO and user experience, keeping the website in line with the latest design and functionality trends.
  • Collaborate with the web development team to enhance the website as needed.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to continuously improve content quality.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned/requested.
Digital Copywriter Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent in education and experience plus three (3) years of related
    experience.
  • Bachelors degree in Marketing, Communications, or Journalism is preferred but all majors are encouraged to apply.
  • 2-3 years of experience in digital content management, marketing, or communications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and grammar.
  • Proficiency in content management systems (e.g., WordPress) and SEO best practices.
  • Strong creative and analytical thinking, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Experience with graphic design and multimedia content creation tools such as Adobe and Canva.
  • Familiarity with industry trends, emerging technologies, and the competitive landscape.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with Google Analytics or similar tools.
  • Experience in higher education or a similar industry.
  • Knowledge in measuring impact and conversions for web.
  • Strong writing and copy-editing skills.
  • Self-directed and curious with the ability to take initiative, identify priorities and needs, and problem-solve effectively.
  • Holds a strong work ethic and standard for which tasks and projects are completed; attention to detail is critical.
  • nterested in learning and mastering innovative technologies and comfortable independently seeking information and corralling resources when needed to deliver results.
