Marketing and Business Development Manager

Pay: $45-63/hour depending on experience 
Location: On-site 5 days a week in Chicago, IL
Duration: up to 6 Months

Planet Interactive is seeking an on-site Marketing and Business Development Manager to join one of our legal services clients. This role will be 40 hours a week and for up to 6 months. This role does require being 100% onsite in Chicago, IL.

Marketing and Business Development Manager Responsibilities: 
  • Develop and execute marketing and client development plans for the assigned group.
  • Identify and recommend best business development practices and opportunities using data, industry trends, market analyses and more.
  • Ensure that the assets and prospect/ active lists are maintained and refined (written collateral, databases, contact lists, opportunity lists, etc.)
  • Help prepare and manage the group's business development budget.
  • Plan, implement, and follow-up on new business or cross-marketing opportunities for the group.
  • Serve as the project manager and a key stakeholder for RFPs, pitches, and other business development projects for the group.
  • Write new business proposals and tailored responses to RFIs/ RFPs.
  • Create submission packages for practice/ industry rankings, awards, and other recognitions.
  • Help plan client programs and sponsored events.
  • Work cross-functionally with the communications and PR team to identify thought leadership topics and to uncover opportunities for the lawyers to engage in media (articles, podcasts, commentary, etc.)
  • Help in hiring, managing, and developing staff as needed.
  • Oversees daily operations and work deadlines or the staff.
  • Help delegate workflows and projects to team members.
Marketing Manager Qualifications
  • A minimum of eight (8) years of professional marketing, business development, or other relevant experience.
  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in marketing, communication, or related field.
  • Excellent writing, proofreading, and critical thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
  • Marketing, business development, event planning, and/or other relevant experience in a law firm or other professional services organization.
  • Supervisory, managerial, and project management experience.
  • Working knowledge of platforms such as InterAction, Salesforce, or Foundation.
  • Familiarity or experience using marketing research tools.
